Police officers across
the U.S. are purchasing Virtual
Partner to give a helping hand to improve efficiency, safety, and
productivity. This
innovative software program was “Built by Cops, for cops.” Thus,
Advanced
Public Safety was formed and has established itself as a leading
software developer for the public safety industry.
"Now they have all the
information before they ever pull them over," Delray Beach, FL police Maj. Will McCollom
said.
Virtual Partner is being
used in several applications including QuickVoice, QuickTicket, and PocketCitation. Police
departments do NOT have to replace their current software. Virtual Partner enhances a
police department's existing technology by integrating with the
department's current "mobile client" platform.
The use of mobile laptops
placed in patrol cars have been instrumental in getting officers
the information they need. Conversely, it can be dangerous to use
while driving.
Virtual Partner eliminates
that danger factor. The
program through QuickVoice analyzes
the data returned via the existing mobile client and utilizes human
voice to read critical information to the officer. Virtual Partner
is able to inform an officer (in seconds) an individual's age, sex,
race, vehicle registration, license status, criminal history, and
more.
Officers no longer have
to look at the mobile computer screen to get the information they
need. The important information is delivered quickly and accurately,
enabling officers to focus their attention on the roadway and potentially
dangerous suspects/situations.
In addition,
it stores the information electronically and can automatically populate
traffic citations, crash reports, and a variety of other police
forms. With the QuickTicket
system, police officers are able to complete electronic traffic
citations in under 30 seconds.
This
application automatically populates the traffic offender’s information
on the citation form using the data returned from NCIC (National
Crime Information System) and motor vehicle queries, and/or the
information provided on a driver’s license. Officers select the
applicable violation from a drop-down menu and the appropriate statute
number, fine and court information is automatically entered on the
ticket. The ticket is printed directly on the agency’s current traffic
citation form utilizing a high-impact mobile printer. If there are
multiple citations during a traffic stop, a second ticket can be
created in 10 seconds by simply selecting a different violation.
PocketCitation is a complete electronic
ticketing system that enables officers to issue traffic citations
utilizing a mobile handheld device. This system scans the traffic
violator’s drivers license information and automatically adds the
appropriate information to the citation. The officer can complete the
citation by selecting from a series of drop down menus. In addition,
the system will show the appropriate statute number, fine, and court
information, along with a state issued citation number. The citation is printed utilizing
a wireless bluetooth connection to a thermal or laser-jet printer.
In the
U.S., approximately
20 percent of all traffic citations are dismissed because of incorrect
statute numbers or other administrative data errors.
This system will ensure the traffic citation is 100 percent
correct.
“It’s
an incredible piece of technology. Every police officer should
have it,” said Chief Thomas E. Ribel, Aventura, FL Police
Department
