The SmartRoads™ application enables agencies to create an electronic diagram of any accident/incident scene in just minutes – rather than hours or days. The application allows officers to include
revolutionary diagramming capabilities into their daily reporting. Diagrams completed with the SmartRoads™ application can be directly integrated into any form created within the APS ReportBeam™ solution.
SmartRoads™ allows users to create any roadway design utilizing drag-and-drop icons, and then customizing the design for precise radius corners, traffic island placement, crosswalk
creation, road lane dimensions, and numerous other roadway features. All other structures surrounding the roadway can also be added to the diagram, including: bridges, houses, trees, bushes, buildings,
waterways, utility poles, etc. Agencies can create and save major roadways for use in future diagrams.
Vehicle Specs Database
Once the roadway and surrounding environment are complete, agencies are able incorporate all of the vehicles involved with the accident/incident. The SmartRoads™ application contains a vehicle database
with every vehicle manufactured since 1971 – over 4,000 makes and models. This database enables users to place the precise vehicles in their diagrams, including the exact size and measurements for
length, wheelbase, front track width, rear track width, and all other vehicle characteristics. In addition, the vehicles can be “damaged” in the diagram according to the outcome of the
accident/incident.
